These tips are most useful if your computer experience is limited to a text environment or to a terminal connected to a main server.

1. Use the mouse to move around. Web browsers operate in a "point-and-click" environment. Every field and command can be reached with the mouse. Any clickable object will change the form of the mouse pointer to a when the mouse pointer moves over it.
2. Hyperlinks are underlined words that can take you to another screen by using a single click. The text is normally in blue.
3. Single-click while holding the mouse pointer on the respective object. Do not double-click, otherwise the application may process the request twice, which can produce error messages.
4. Use the TAB key or mouse to move between fill-in fields. The ENTER key will normally submit all the information and produce the next screen. Some browsers may not support the use of the ENTER key. See also Browser Dependent Settings and Issues for further information.
5. Tool Tips are short descriptions of clickable objects. They are visible when the mouse pointer is held steady over the object. Example: Hold the pointer steady over this button to see its tool tip.

The nature of the Internet makes the speed of any web-based application highly unpredictable. There are some things you can do to minimize the processing time. You can also make some modifications to the operating environment or the browser to improve the way your screen appears. This section covers some of these options.

Note: The performance of SafeKeeperPLUS.com depends on your connection to the Internet. For example, even when entering the same data, a transaction will process slower with a 28.8 Kbps modem than with a LAN (Local Area Network) connection.

Graphic Mode vs. Text Mode

SafeKeeperPLUS.com uses graphics in its design. Downloading these graphics from the Internet may increase your working time. If the pages take too long to load, click on the Text Only Version checkbox located at the login screen. This option is also located in the Main Menu screen. When selected, the pages will download faster by bypassing the graphics.

• Graphic Mode (default): Some performance degradation with graphical aid.
• Text Mode: Best system performance without graphical aid.

SSL vs. Non-SSL

Stated simply, SSL enables the encryption of data before transferring it through the Internet, in order to provide data security. This encryption takes time, however. Therefore, using SSL will add both increased security and increased processing time to each request. Before logging into SafeKeeperPLUS.com, you will be able to select between an SSL and a Non-SSL connection.

• SSL: Data encryption with some performance degradation.
• Non-SSL: Best system performance with no data encryption.

Settings

There are a few changes that can be made to your personal computer that may make Internet browsing easier.

• Windows 95/98/NT4.x/2000: Hide task bar. This will increase the desktop space by hiding the taskbar at the bottom of the screen when it is not needed.
  1. Click the Start button.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Click Task Bar & Start Menu...
  4. Click the Taskbar Options tab and place a check next to Auto Hide.
  5. Click the OK button.

• Screen resolution: 800 x 600. Although a higher resolution can be used, SafeKeeperPLUS.com has been designed to display best on a monitor using a minimum screen resolution of 800 x 600 pixels. You can work at a lower resolution but in doing so, SafeKeeperPLUS.com may paint some tables outside the boundaries of the screen, forcing you to scroll the browser window in order to see all of the content.
  • Follow your hardware manufacturer's instructions on how to change your monitor resolution.

• Internet Explorer 4: Full Screen. This feature is particularly useful for monitors less than 15 inches in size. The browser will be able to use the entire screen to display its content.

  To turn on Full Screen:

  1. Click the Full Screen icon on the toolbar.

  OR

  1. In the browser's menu bar, click View.
  2. Select Full Screen. The browser's menu bar, toolbars and status bar will be hidden.

  To turn off Full Screen:

  1. To see the toolbar, hold the mouse pointer steady at the top of the screen.
  2. Click the Full Screen icon on the toolbar again, to restore the screen to normal view.

• Netscape 4: Hide toolbars. The toolbars may be hidden to gain more screen space.
  1. From the Menu Toolbar select View.
  2. Click Hide Navigation Toolbar.
  3. Click Hide Location Toolbar.
  4. Click Hide Personal Toolbar.

This section summarizes the login process and briefly describes the Main Menu. For detailed information about any screen you encounter during your SafeKeeperPLUS.com session, click the Help link at the top of the screen for which you wish to view relevant information.

Access: User, Password

User: Logon to SafeKeeperPLUS.com screen

1. Enter your User ID and Password.
2. Click the Login button.

Password: Change Password screen

• This page appears only if your User ID has never been used before or has been reset by your administrator. If you see this screen, you must provide the current password and the new password, then retype the new password again for verification.

Available Functionality

Main Menu screen

• The Main Menu page is the starting point from which you may select any available function.
• The functions available to you are determined by the access given to your login.
• The options on this screen shared by all other SafeKeeperPLUS.com screens are:
  • Main Menu: Returns to the initial menu screen you see after logging in.
  • Corporate Site: Sends you to the Iron Mountain Corporate web site.
  • Contact: Click this option to send e-mail to Systems Support.
  • Help: Click this option to access the on-line Help for guidance on whichever function you are using.
  • FAQ: The Frequently Asked Questions document.
• The remaining options on this screen fall into one of two categories:
  • Action links: Hyperlinks which will start a new function such as Order Entry or Inventory Research. Each of these functions is listed in the Online Help Index. To learn more about any of these functions, click the hyperlink associated with your function in the Index.
  • Click here to change display mode...: An option to speed up the rate at which the page downloads by suppressing graphics or to re-activate the graphics if you are in the text-only mode.
