Default Search Rules

Each File format uses unique types of fields. All formats will have the Box Number field. This field can be the customer box number or the SKP box number. For best results use the SKP box number.

The following illustrates a generic field setup for a file search.

Note: These rules are applied by default:

• When two or more fields contain data, the cross field operator will be AND. That is, the search will seek records where all of the field conditions are true.
• SafeKeeperPLUS.com is not case sensitive. Given "ABC" a search will find "abc", "AbC", "ABC", etc.
• Keyword Searching only applies to searches run with the quot;Contains" Search Type. If you select "Equals" or "Begins", SafeKeeperPLUS.com will check for an exact match on either all or just the beginning of the search string.

Advanced Keyword Search (Contains)

• To implement the AND operator use the ampersand symbol "&". This operator requires that all words listed in the field must be present for the record to be declared a match.  A space between words is an implied AND.

  Example: "John & Smith" requires both "John" and "Smith" to be present in the string.  They do not, however, need to appear in that order. Some valid results would be: "Smith Albert John", "Smith K. John".

• To implement the OR use the pipe symbol "|".  This operator requires that at least one of the words listed in the field be present for the record to be declared a match.

  Example: "John | Smith" requires either John or Smith or both words to be present in the string. They do not, however, need to appear in that order.   Some valid results would be: "Smith Albert John", "Smith K. John", "Jane Smith", "John Doe".

Keyword search

Appending a * to the right-hand side of a Keyword will return left-side partial matches. This character cannot be used to the left of a word.

Equals vs. Begins Box Search

In the drop-down list, there are five options for Box Number: SKP, Customer, Ref 1, Ref 2, and All. The search will be done by the option you choose.
